Kagura Powder Weekend

Kagura Powder Weekend

Weekend powder getaway to the massive, Kagura resort. Early season pow! Hot springs, party, free ski & snowboard lessons and more!

Overview

Kagura Ski Resort is renowned for its early-season powder snow and offers an extensive range of terrain with 23 lifts, two ropeways, and a stunning 6000-meter-long run. The resort caters to all levels of skiers and snowboarders, with its expansive slopes providing something for everyone. The breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding mountain ranges and nearby lakes make Kagura a true winter paradise.

Kagura, along with Mitsumata and Tashiro, forms a three-in-one ski resort that is interconnected with Naeba Ski Resort through the Dragondola, creating a vast ski area known as Mt. Naeba. Unlike the busier Naeba, Kagura maintains a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere, making it an ideal destination for those seeking a more tranquil skiing experience. With exceptional snow quality, especially at higher elevations, Kagura is a dream for powder lovers.

In addition to its mellow slopes, Kagura is well-known for its fantastic off-piste, sidecountry, and backcountry opportunities. Powder enthusiasts will enjoy the freedom to explore the resort's pristine tree skiing areas, while beginners can take advantage of the gentle terrain. Whether you're an experienced skier or just starting out, Kagura’s varied terrain and relaxed ski patrol make it a perfect spot for everyone.

Awesome trip, the leaders are legends in ensuring everyone is safe, having fun, and that everything runs smooth. I appreciate that they stick to the schedule and do not hold up the rest of the group when people are late for the bus. Information about the trip was exactly correct with what the actual trip entailed. Expectations met reality. Would love if the What's App group were made a week prior to the trip happening so people could start getting to know each other even earlier. Thanks for a wonderful trip!

The Kagura early season trip is always hit or miss for powder but we managed to find a decent stash but the trip with tokyo snow club is always fun! We partied hard on Saturday night and enjoyed every bit of the amazing company.

Overall trip organization and coordination went well. Having two shuttle departures the second morning was appreciated for those who enjoyed themselves the night before. Extra praise for taking advantage of the lift ticket discount provided by the hotel.
